I recently completed a two week artist residency at Hambidge in Rabun County Georgia.
"Situated on 600 acres in the mountains of north Georgia, Hambidge is a sanctuary of time and space that inspires individuals working in a broad range of disciplines to create works of the highest caliber."
My time was spent in the Fisher studio located in the wooded area by the trail head. Got to tell you, it was dark at night! With no internet or cell phone service, it took awhile to feel comfortable.
During my residency I worked with van dyke photographs that I had printed back in the studio/darkroom at home. My goal was to experiment with various ways of handtinting the images. After much frustration, I settled on watercolor. More about this body of work to come!
